Best Seat in the House - Tijuana Estuary

from 39.00

This bench sits at the confluence of several major geographic phenomena: Located at the southernmost edge of the Tijuana Estuary, it faces southwest toward the Tijuana River Valley and the Tijuana Sloughs. Mexico is just beyond the River Valley and the Pacific Ocean is just beyond the Sloughs. If you look closely, one of the Los Coronados Islands can be seen at the far left on the horizon. It's a bit of a challenge to get to this location but it is absolutely worth the effort. You can see for miles in every direction, and it's the only place I've ever been where land meets ocean, cactus meets slough, and border (USA/Mex) meets border - all in one place. Toss in hundreds of bird species, Navy Helicopters flying overhead (NOLF sits on the Eastern edge of the Estuary), and the mountains to the East and this area makes for one of the most unique experiences Southern California has to offer.
