A lone surfer turns around and takes one last look after a late afternoon surf session in the Tijuana Sloughs, south of Imperial Beach, CA. I don’t know who this is, but he was an incredible surfer. You have to be in order to surf the Sloughs; there are no lifeguards and few, if any, bystanders. If you get into trouble, you have to get yourself out of it. There’s no one there to help you.
